Hello, I am Lisa Bachmann, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. Thank you for visiting my website. I encourage you to contact me even if you are unsure whether you are ready to commit to therapy right now, as I understand that reaching out and making that first contact is the hardest first step to getting help.
For over twenty years I have provided therapeutic services to adults, children and families in a number of different mental health settings. This rich and diverse experience allows me to easily meet you where you are and work collaboratively with you to help you meet your goals. As a former child abuse investigator for Children's Protective Services I have worked with countless clients in crisis; who have experienced trauma, grief and loss. Utilizing an empathetic, authentic and solution focused approach, I have helped clients move from a place of chaos and crisis to one of safety and security, where they can begin the process of healing from their traumatic experiences.
How I Work
I believe that the therapeutic process is a partnership where you and I will work together to meet your goals. I have training and experience in a number of therapy approaches and recognize that therapy is not "one size fits all." I believe in the importance of using our shared knowledge and experience in building an effective treatment plan. I respect the fact that you are the expert on your life and will spend a lot of time getting to know you, focusing on your strengths and we will build upon these strengths and your past successes to help you attain your goals.
My Background
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Humboldt State University in 1992. Additionally, I have earned certificates in Serving Our Veterans Behavioral Health Care from the Department of Deployment Psychology, am a certified Clinical Trauma Professional through the International Association of Trauma Professionals and have additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Crisis Counseling.
I am happy to discuss my training and/or experience with you, or if you would like to discuss how I may be able to help you with your unique needs please contact me via email or phone. My contact information is located on the Contact Me page.
