I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist serving clients in San Ramon, and surrounding communities:
For over twenty years I have provided therapeutic services to individuals and families in a variety of settings. Having worked for Children's Protective Services (CPS) for over 16 years, I have worked with countless clients in crisis; who have experienced trauma, grief and loss. Utilizing an empathetic, authentic and solution focused approach, I have helped clients move from a place of chaos and crisis to one of safety and security, where they can begin the process of healing from their traumatic experiences.
As a child abuse investigator with CPS, I have experienced some of the unique challenges associated with serving the community as a representative of a government agency. This difficult work has helped me understand the personal toll that vicarious trauma and cumulative stress can take on one's physical and emotional/mental health. I learned that despite our training, experience and quality of our coping skills, this work changes who we are and how we see the world; we can't help but be affected by it.
My work with CPS has provided me the opportunity to work closely and collaboratively with members of law enforcement on the difficult cases we share and I understand the challenges oftentimes associated with working within the family, juvenile and criminal justice systems.
If you have any questions about my training and/or experience or how I may be able to help you, please contact me via email or phone.
Just like every client's unique set of circumstances is different, I believe that the therapeutic setting and approach should be developed around the needs of the client, rather than dictated by the therapist. I acknowledge the fact that you are the expert on your life. I offer a highly personalized approach which is tailored to fit your needs and I will work with your individual experiences to help you build on your strengths and past successes to attain your goals.
